As a child I spent many an afternoon rooting through a craft
box, cutting up old birthday cards and other paper offcuts creating collage
after collage in my scrapbooks. Now as an illustrator I am still drawn to work
with paper, this attraction has led me to refine the ways in which I use and
handle it.
My work does not only consist of paper but combines collage
and paper cuts with machine embroidery and stitch. I enjoy working with
different techniques each providing me with a short break from the other whilst
I am creating my work allowing them to remain feeling fresh. The paper within
my work provides colour and form whilst the stitching provides the detail,
texture, depth and pattern.
